Course Details:

This course takes the dental team through an overview of the potentially harmful effects of excessive alcohol consumption and how they can educate and assist their patients when necessary.

You will be presented with a short presentation followed by an assessment.

If you achieve 80% or more, you pass the course and will receive a printable certificate to place in your CPD folder. If you do not pass, you will have the opportunity to review the content and retake the assessment when you feel confident.

Aims:

This course aims to update dental professionals on the links of alcohol consumption and oral health and the dental professional's role in educating and referring patients when necessary.

Objectives:

Learners will be able to:

  • Explain the potential effects alcohol has on a patients oral health
  • Assess and advise a patient on alcohol guidelines 
  • Identify alcohol effects on the oral tissues
