Course Details:

HTM 01-05 states that 'Training and education in exposure to blood-borne viruses and infection risk reduction, should be part of staff induction programmes'.

This course will teach learners how to comply with the blood-borne viruses training requirement of HTM 01-05.

You will be presented with a short presentation followed by an assessment.

If you achieve 80% or more, you pass the course and will receive a printable certificate to place in your CPD folder. If you do not pass, you will have the opportunity to review the content and retake the assessment when you feel confident. 

Aims:

This course will teach learners how to comply with the blood-borne viruses training requirement of HTM 01-05.

  • Understand blood-borne virus transmission 
  • Understand how PPE can help prevent infection from BBVs
  • Understand why immunisations are required
  • Know how to handle a sharps injury effectively
