Course Details:

This course takes an in-depth look at the requirements that dental teams must meet to ensure that their Data Security and Protection Policy is fit for purpose and meets the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulations, NHS Data Security and Protection Measures, the General Dental Council and Quality of Care Regulators. Previously known as Information Governance.

You will be presented with a short presentation followed by an assessment. 

If you achieve 80% or more, you pass the course and will receive a printable certificate to place in your CPD folder. If you do not pass, you will have the opportunity to review the content and retake the assessment when you feel confident.


This course aims to utilise the legal requirements detailed in part one and build upon them by defining team roles and practical measures to ensure compliance in practice.

  • Gather information for policy audits.
  • Manage data breaches.
