Course Details

  • This course will allow the learner to better understand the necessary considerations that form part of a display screen equipment (DSE) and/or workstation assessment.
  • You will be presented with a lecture followed by an assessment with options for feedback and reflection.
  • Once you have achieved a mark of 80% or more, you will be presented with a certificate to download.
  • If you do not pass you will have the opportunity to review the content and retake the assessment.

Aims

The aim of the course is to raise awareness of how DSE use can cause injuries and what measures can be taken to reduce exposure. 

Objectives

During this course learners will be able to:

  • Identify fundamental legal requirements relating to DSE.
  • Determine if they and others are defined as DSE users.
  • Consider factors to assess in a DSE workstation.
  • To better understand what is meant by DSE. 
  • Understand which measures can be implemented to better safeguard the health of DSE users. 
  • Gain a knowledge of further guidance about DSE. 

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this course the learner will gain an understanding of:

  • How to apply their knowledge about DSE safety in their working environment.
  • How to define an employee as a user of DSE.
  • How to identify change to reduce risk when using DSE.
  • The Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) regulations 1992 (2002).
