Course Details

• This course will provide learners with essential information about Legionella and how to prevent and control the associated risks.
• You will be presented with a coursebook followed by an assessment with options for feedback and reflection.
• Once you have achieved a mark of 80% or more, you will be presented with a certificate to download.
• If you do not pass you will have the opportunity to review the content and retake the assessment.

Aims

This course will provide learners with essential information about Legionella, how to prevent it, and how to control the associated risks. It also outlines the risk assessment requirements.

Objectives

During this course learners will be able to:

• Define what Legionella is and identify potential sources of bacteria.
• Outline the conditions in which legionella thrives, and conditions that are harmful.
• Explain the health risks associated with legionnaires' disease and identify people who are at increased risk.
• Describe the testing requirements for the practice's water system.
• Understand the need to have a risk assessment in place and how often it should be completed.
