Course Details:

This course takes a look at dental sleep medicine and the pivotal role a clinician has for patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnoea.

You will be presented with a short presentation followed by an assessment.

If you achieve 80% or more you pass the course and will receive a printable certificate to place in your CPD folder. If you do not pass, you will have the opportunity to review the content and take the assessment again when you feel confident.

Aims:

The aim of this course is to introduce a dentist to their involvement in the area of dental sleep medicine. To express the important and pivotal role they have to fulfil in identifying and managing those patients at risk of Obstructive Sleep Apnoea. 

Objectives:

Learners will be able to: 

  • Discuss the importance of sleep quality and quantity.         
  • Detail the effect of poor sleep on general health and wellbeing.
  • Explain how to identify, screen and follow a management protocol with patients in practice.
