Course Details:

This course aims to help learners understand the importance of water quality, outlining the relevant legislation which helps to develop water quality and protect staff and patients. 

You will be presented with a presentation followed by an assessment.  

If you achieve 80% or more, you pass the course and will receive a printable certificate to place in your CPD folder. 

If you do not pass, you will have the opportunity to review the content and retake the assessment when you feel confident. 

Aims:

  • Outline the drinking water standards that dental unit waterlines must comply with
  • Identify how DUWLs become contaminated by microbes coming from three different sources
  • Know the variety of microbes found in DUWLs
  • Correctly address the finding of bacteria in DUWLs

  • Outline the variety of microbes found in DUWLs
  • List the associated drinking water standards for DUWLs
  • Correctly address positive findings of bacteria within the DUWLs
  • Identify how DUWLs become contaminated by microbes coming from three different sources
