Course Details:

This course takes an in-depth look at the use of medical gases in dentistry and the responsibilities of the dental professional.

You will be presented with a short presentation followed by an assessment.

If you achieve 80% or more you pass the course and will receive a printable certificate to place in your CPD folder. If you do not pass, you will have the opportunity to review the content and take the assessment again when you feel confident.

Aims:

The aim of this course is to provide a basic knowledge and understanding of the various medical gases used in dentistry, their presentation and legislation.

  • Identify a range of medical gas cylinders 
  • Refer to relevant legislation

Learning Outcomes:

The learner understands:

  • How to prepare a medical gas cylinder for use.
  • How to minimise risks, handle and where relevant, store medical gas cylinders safely.
  • The dangers of medical gases and why the appropriate precautions must be implemented to ensure safety during their use.
