Course Details:

Level Two Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults is suitable for clinical staff. 

This course takes an in-depth look at understanding the dental professional’s responsibilities surrounding the safeguarding of patients. The course provides learners with an understanding on practice protocols and procedures which should be in place.

You will be presented with a short presentation followed by an assessment.

If you achieve 80% or more, you pass the course and will receive a printable certificate to place in your CPD folder. If you do not pass, you will have the opportunity to review the content and retake the assessment when you feel confident.

Aims:

This course aims to ensure dental professionals understand their professional responsibilities when it comes to safeguarding patients against harm or abuse.

The course will outline the practice protocols and procedures which should be in place for effective safeguarding measures.

Objectives:

Learners will be able to:

  • Understand the role of Safeguarding Lead
  • Understand the role and responsibilities of the dental team
  • Refer safeguarding concerns with multi-agencies in a timely manner
  • Ensure the dental team know how to raise concerns about safeguarding
  • Assess patients correctly and raise concerns when necessary
  • Define and establish practice paperwork to support safeguarding procedures
  • Ensure there is a robust recruitment system in place
