Course Details:

This course aims to provide an understanding of a patient suffering from a stroke also known as a Cerebrovascular Accident (CVA).

You will be presented with a short presentation followed by an assessment.

If you achieve 80% or more you will pass the course, and will receive a printable certificate to place in your CPD folder. If you do not pass, you will have the opportunity to review the content and take the assessment again when you feel confident.

Aims:

Learners will be able to:

  • Recognise the sign and symptoms of a stroke.
  • Respond immediately to a patient suffering from a stroke
  • Care for the patient following the practice protocols
  • Identify different medications used to manage strokes.

The learner understands:

  • Signs and symptoms of a stoke
  • How to effectively respond to a patient suffering from a stroke.
  • The care required for patient suffering from a stroke, and how to provide this care in line with practice protocols.
  • Conduct good patient care pre and post seizures
