Course Details:

This course takes the learner through what is required, and what is expected of a Dental Therapist.

You will be presented with a short presentation followed by an assessment.

If you achieve 80% or more you pass the course and will receive a printable certificate to place in your CPD folder. If you do not pass, you will have the opportunity to review the content and take the assessment again when you feel confident.


The aim of this course is to help the dental team understand the role of the Dental Therapist, by highlighting their scope of practice and importance within the profession in both private and NHS dentistry. 


Learners will be able to:

  • Identify all aspects of the Dental Therapists Scope of practice. 
  • Identify the role of the Dental Therapist with in the dental team.
  • Identify the positive impact Dental Therapists have on patients and their oral health. 

Learning Outcomes:

The learner understands:

  • The role of the Dental Therapist when treating patients. 
  • The Dental Therapists scope of practice as set out by the General Dental Council. 
  • The importance of a Dental Therapist and their role within the multidisciplinary dental team.
